My apartment got broken into.
I didnt lose anything of value, but my roommates collectively had three laptops stolen. Even more concerning, one of my roommates had his shotgun stolen. What sucks even more was I was the only one with renters insurance.
This, plus my rear window getting smashed, and another roommate getting sexually assaulted on my couch I cant wait for the lease to be up.
Sigh, fuck people.
Have a P1

Shit. I’m guessing that the cops have already been informed about the shotgun? That really fucking sucks.

That fucking sucks.
You should invest in a security cam. We just got one, and set it up so that each time it detects movement it sends an email/text to us. Software was a pain in the ass, but at least it works now.

The ‘good’ news is that since a gun was stolen the police will actually investigate instead of going, “oh, that sucks, we’ll send somebody by to take a statement.”

+1 on cameras. I sent a trio to jail several years ago because I had them and their car on camera after they broke into my house.

If a shotgun was stolen, the police might actually investigate, so yay?
Also, a katana is a good investment if you’re in college.

A relatively quiet college town. Just shitty fucking luck from the looks of it.

what the fucking fuck! Man dude hope your luck changes ASAP!

I know that sinking feeling. When I was a freshman, I got burgled my second month into my lease — by the people down the hall. Stole a very expensive laptop that basically had my entire life on it... ugh.

They didn’t happen to steal like 100 fantasy football points and your fantasy QB did they?
On a serious note though that blows.

It’s a horrible feeling knowing someone broke into your place and was rummaging around in your shit. Burglars and thieves are scum. Sorey to hear and hope they catch the person(s).

Ugh, that's awful. It's the one thing that really worries me when I travel all the time for work. I hope the cops catch them.

Sucks to hear man! My lady and I live in an apartment and I’ve always felt they would be much safer than a house since you have neighbors so close if someone breaks in. Lucky for me, I’m on the 3rd floor and there is only 1 exit so people would have to be pretty stupid to break in.
Sounds like your roommates don’t have the best of luck either. If I was around when the assault happened, the perp would be outside bleeding all over the sidewalk until the police showed up.

Yeah, kid with the shotgun was her older brother. He was literally about to leave to kill the kid, my other roommate had to talk him down to let him at least think about it before doing something.

Wise move to take them outside, don’t wanna have to clean the carpet...I like this policy

Damn man. Trying to think of what “relatively quiet college town” this could be in.
My dorm got broken into while I was at State. We think my room mate was targeted because they took almost specifically his stuff, even unwired a surround sound system. It was over winter break so they knew they had time to do it. I got back to school and called my roommate saying hey man, when you coming back with the TV?
“I DIDN’T TAKE IT HOME”...I guess I’m calling the cops now....

These days you would have to do it while it was happening otherwise it’s “unjustified”. 30 years ago you could probably get away with it.

Yeah, this guy left the speakers, the bass, and the game consoles. He was looking for easy to carry stuff for sure.

Hopefully the blood stained sidewalk would deter future would-be criminals.

Definitely.
Fuck, sorry man.

man this plan keeps getting better
What do you think a sign over it that says “blood of the last guy who tried to rob me/assault my friends”

Sounds good to me!

My neighbor got broken into last year. Ended up being some people across from us. Police got it back in less than a day.
Just wondering, door unlocked? Are you guys still up there? I’m literally the only car in the parking lot right now, I have that feeling someone might try something over break.

You live in a Copper, right?
Well they went in the rear floor basement bedroom window and just had a field day after that.

Yes. Guess I’ll go make sure our basement windows are locked.
Was anyone up there to catch it?

I had two roommates still there, but they werent home.
Part of me is kind of happy about that, simply because I wouldnt be surprised if the one who had the shotgun very possibly would have killed the guy...

Hopefully the police will help.

Well since a firearm was invloved it should get an actual investigation, along with I’m hearing other people in the complex got hit too. So, I can hope.

Welcome to the real world.
And your roommate doesn’t hide guns too well.
